Coldstream announced the appointment of Bryan Shipley as its new chief investment officer, succeeding Howard Coleman who served as CIO for 10 years and will now assume the role of managing director of fund management and chief legal counsel for the firm.
Shipley became a part of Coldstream in 2024 when the firm acquired $2B Portland, OR-based RIA Arnerich Massena, as reported by Dakota on July 9, 2024. He served as Arnerich Massena’s co-CEO and directed research efforts, crafted tailored investment strategies, and established due diligence processes. Coleman, meanwhile, will be charged with overseeing the firm’s expanding fund management programs in his new role.
In a statement, Coldstream managing shareholder Kevin Fitzwilson said that the leadership expansion will help the firm position itself for additional strategic growth. In a January 9 Dakota report, Coldstream said that it currently manages $11.1B in client assets, following the acquisition of Harrison Berkman Claypool & Guard (HBCG), a Seattle-based RIA serving high-net-worth individuals.
