Hemisphere Capital said it has established a new office in Singapore led by Managing Partner Chip Whittemore, marking the firm’s first expansion in Southeast Asia.
Hemisphere is known for its investments in space, cybersecurity, biotech, nanotech, drones, robotics, and other frontier technologies. The firm will leverage its US network for its operations as it taps into the potential of the region’s tech industry through Singapore’s robust infrastructure, enabling connections between local startups and international markets.
Hemisphere said Singapore is an ideal location for the expansion as the country sees an increase in family offices and its position as a global financial hub, backed by S$5.5T in assets and a strong regulatory framework. In his new role, Whittermore will be responsible for building relationships with regional investors, founders, and key stakeholders.
