Washington, DC-based venture capital firm Marlinspike announced the establishment of the advisory board for its Marlinspike Disruptive Technology Fund II (MDTF II), recruiting leaders from the defense, intelligence, and strategic policy communities.
The advisory board brings together retired Lt. Gen. Scott A. Howell, former CIA COO Andrew Makridis, and Bryan Clark, senior fellow and director for Hudson Institute’s Center for Defense Concepts and Technologies.
MDTF II will focus on “dual-use” defense and commercial companies and leverage the firm and advisory board’s institutional knowledge of the military and Washington’s procurement ecosystem to identify and advance promising defense technologies with commercial market potential. The fund will provide capital for early-stage projects that focus on defense-related technology in aerospace, AI, autonomy, and cybersecurity.
