Australian state sovereign wealth fund Queensland Investment Corp. (QIC) said November 19 that it has made a capital investment of undisclosed size in Virescent Ventures' second climate technology fund, increasing total commitments since last month’s first close to $125M.
Fund II will support local startups contributing to the acceleration of the global transition to net zero. It raised $100M at first close in October, with support from cornerstone investors Westpac and the Clean Energy Finance Corp. QIC said its investment joins those from a number of high-net-worth investors since first close.
