Louisiana TRS Invests $210M in VC, Infrastructure Funds

The Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana committed a total of $210M across three vehicles in private infrastructure and venture capital, according to presentation materials from the pension’s December 5 meeting.

Of the three, two are related funds under Blackstone’s late-stage venture capital fund Life Sciences VI, while the third is Northleaf Capital Partners’ fourth vintage core-plus private infrastructure strategy. Louisiana allocated $160M in total to the Blackstone fund – $110M to the main fund, and another $50M to its co-investment feature – while it allocated $50M to Northleaf Infrastructure Capital Partners IV.

Hamilton Lane assisted in the fund reviews as private equity consultant of the Louisiana teachers’ pension, which currently manages total assets of $26B, per Dakota data.
