Aksia Recruits New Real Assets MD from Mercer

New York-based institutional investor consultant Aksia has appointed former Mercer global head of real assets Michael Brand as managing director and co-head of its real assets team.

In the role, Brand will oversee real assets investment programs and brings over 20 years of experience spanning leadership roles for real assets investments, as well as market research and analysis.

At Mercer, he led a 30-person team overseeing portfolio management and research on real asset sectors such as real estate, infrastructure, and natural resources. Prior to that, he was also managing director and chair of Cambridge Associates’ real assets investment committee for nearly a decade, sourcing and managing investment opportunities and portfolios for investors across public and private real assets.
