XGEN Venture Closes First Life Sciences Fund at €180M

Life sciences-focused venture capital firm XGEN Venture secured €180M (~$188.5M) in capital commitments at the final close of its first life sciences fund.

XGEN Venture Life Sciences Fund generated pledges from institutional investors, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. It targets early-stage investments in biotechnology, medical devices and diagnostics. 

The fund has so far invested in six startups including clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company iOnctura. Over the next two to three years, it intends to complete its portfolio, with nine more investments planned.
