Wealth Enhancement Expands Oregon Presence with $673M RIA Acquisition

Wealth Enhancement announced the acquisition of Lake Oswego, OR-based RIA Northwest Investment Counselors, adding $673M in client assets, in a deal that was closed on December 31, marking the firm’s 21st acquisition of 2024.

Northwest Investment Counselors is an eight-person team founded in 1998 led by advisors Mark Scarlett, Matthew Roehr, and Michelle Castano Garcia. The firm serves clients primarily in Oregon and Washington, offering investment management, trust services, and financial planning advisory.

Wealth Enhancement CEO Jeff Dekko said in a statement that the acquisition not only bolsters the Plymouth, MN-based firm’s presence in the Pacific Northwest but also broadens the scope of businesses it offers. The deal closely follows Wealth Enhancement’s acquisition of Danison & Associates of Columbus, OH, as reported by Dakota on January 10, which added $82M in AUM. As of December 31, Wealth Management reportedly manages $102.1B in client assets.

Dan Erichson and Matt Kempler of Houlihan Lokey served as financial advisors to Northwest Investment Counselors for the transaction.
