Vistria Group said January 9 it secured $3B in total capital commitments at the final close of Vistria Fund V, marking its largest private equity fund to date.
Fund V's predecessor, Vistria Fund IV, raised $2.68B when it closed in 2021, while its third flagship fund, Vistria Fund III, wrapped up with $1.1B raised. For its fifth flagship fund, the middle market private investment firm plans to employ the same strategy as with its predecessors, targeting US companies in the healthcare, education and financial services sectors.
With the closing of the fifth fund, Vistria's AUM increased to almost $16B, more than doubling in a little over three years, during which time it has also added credit and real estate strategies. The Chicago-based firm currently holds investments in 39 portfolio companies.
