Steward Partners has promoted head of recruiting and founding partner Jeff Gonyo to head of wealth management after close to two years of vacancy in the position, according to a September 25 report by AdvisorHub.
Gonyo will retain his role as recruiting head for the New York-based RIA, but will leave his position as senior divisional president in the Southeast as he now takes on the responsibility of supervising all four of the firm’s divisional leaders. Per his LinkedIn profile, Gonyo joined Steward Partners in 2014 from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management, and has over three decades of advisory experience beginning with Merrill Lynch in 1993.
Gonyo’s promotion ends the near two-year search to fill the wealth management leadership role following the departure of its former head and president Doug Kentfield in September 2022. The new wealth head told AdvisorHub that Steward Partners has recruited advisors with $2.5B in managed assets so far in 2024 and hopes to cross the $5B mark by year-end.
According to the firm’s website, Steward Partners has 250 advisors across 59 offices.
