After 16 years with Mercer Global Advisors, with over seven years as vice chairman of M&A, David Barton is stepping down from the firm and retiring at 58, according to an October 21 report from Wealth Management.

Barton is reportedly stepping down to focus on addressing a health concern. Barton has held a number of key positions throughout his career with Mercer, including nine years as CEO from 2008 to 2017.

Following his departure, his role in leading M&A will be taken on by principal Martine Lellis.
