Northwestern Mutual Capital (NMC) said it closed on fundraising for its seventh private equity co-investment fund and a parallel fund, reaching $473M in capital commitments and exceeding its $400M target.
NMC first offered equity co-investment vehicles in 2008, and like its predecessor funds, Equity Fund VII is expected to make direct investments in middle-market companies across North America and Western Europe. The firm said an improving environment for co-investments has enabled it to make “a number of high-quality commitments” since its first close in June.
Ropes & Gray LLP served as fund counsel.
