Global investment firm EQT said it has set a $14.5B hard cap for EQT Private Capital Asia’s ninth private equity fund.
EQT had in August set a target fundraise of $12.5B for BPEA Private Equity Fund IX, which will seek control and co-control investments through $50M to $1B in equity checks to small- and large-cap buyouts, primarily in companies based in Asia. It will build on its predecessor Fund VIII, which closed in 2022 with $11.2B in secured capital commitments.
EQT’s Private Capital Asia series so far has 44 companies in its portfolio. The firm, through BPEA VIII, most recently led an acquisition with co-investors Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Temasek of video game company Keywords Studios on October 24.
