Canyon Partners Appoints New President, CIO in Leadership Reorg

$26B global alternative investment manager Canyon Partners made a series of promotions and additions to its leadership team, including the appointment of a new president and chief investment officer.

Chief Strategy Officer Andy Ray will assume the role of president while Private Credit Co-Head Jeff Kivitz has been named CIO, replacing Todd Lemkin who will be exiting the firm after 21 years. Following their promotions, Managing Director Randy Ko will adopt Ray’s previous role alongside his current responsibilities as head of sustainable investing, while former Head of Europe Davide Amico will co-head Kivitz’ previous position with 14-year company veteran Scott Borenstein. Additionally, partners Jonathan Barzideh and Chaney Sheffield have been named co-heads of opportunistic credit. 

As CIO, Kivitz, along with Canyon Partners Real Estate CIO Robin Potts, will also be joining the Canyon management committee.
