Middle-market private equity firm Bertram Capital Management said it secured $260M in total investor commitments at the closing of Bertram Ignite I, its first fund extension platform.
The fund generated support from new and existing global limited partners, including pension funds, foundations, endowments, fund of funds and family offices. The Houston Firefighters Relief and Retirement Fund is among the investors, having pledged $25M, according to Dakota data. The latest fundraising close follows by a year the January 2024 close of Bertram’s fifth flagship fund, Bertram Capital V, which raised $1.6B, inclusive of GP pledges.
Bertram Ignite I has so far made two investments, with a capital injection in residential re-roofing and restoration services provider Ridgeline Roofing & Restoration in January 2024 and another in advanced materials and laboratory equipment supplier MSE Supplies in August of the same year.
Across six funds, Bertram manages more than $4B of total capital and has so far invested in over 150 platforms since its establishment in 2006. Kirkland and Ellis served as counsel for the formation of its last fund.
