Dakota Marketplace held 1,484 UK allocator accounts and 7,689 contacts on them before 1 July 2026. On 21 October 2026 it holds 3,223 accounts and 22,533 contacts, with 1,357 fund-level holdings against 211 before. The growth came from reading the UK's public filings and registers, charity accounts first, then pension fund reports, then the FCA register, and matching every record to a Dakota account.

In this article, we'll show what Dakota's UK coverage looked like before July 2026, where the new accounts, holdings and contacts came from, and what UK data is coming next.

What Did Dakota's UK Coverage Look Like Before July 2026?

Before July 2026, Dakota Marketplace was a strong US database with a thin UK layer. The 1,484 UK allocator accounts were weighted to wealth managers (479), family offices (238), public pensions (166) and funds of funds (104). Charities, the UK's most researchable institutional channel, had 166 accounts between foundations and endowments. Most UK accounts carried two or three contacts, and only 211 fund-level holdings existed on any UK account.

Investment firms that looked at the platform in 2024 or 2025 and concluded the UK data was not deep enough were right at the time. This post is for them, and for anyone seeing the UK coverage for the first time. The table below is the before and after, channel by channel, pulled from the Dakota Marketplace API on 21 October 2026. "Before" means accounts and contacts created before 1 July 2026.

Where Did the 1,700 New UK Accounts Come From?

Every channel in the table grew, and the growth took three forms: new accounts, new fund-level holdings, and new contacts on the accounts that were already there. The next three sections take them in turn. On the account side, the largest single addition came from the channel Dakota had barely covered before, UK charities, alongside new consultants, family offices, wealth managers, corporate pensions and LTAF records.

The UK requires every charity in England and Wales to file audited accounts with the Charity Commission, and the larger ones name their investment managers, custodians, advisers and trustees in those accounts. Dakota's research team read the filings of every charity with £10 million ($13 million) or more invested, built an account for each, and enriched the trustees and executives into contacts.

The result is 1,618 foundation accounts and 136 endowment accounts in Dakota Marketplace, 1,750+ in total, with 10,700+ contacts. Trustees are the largest contact group at 8,300+, followed by executives, finance directors, portfolio managers and chief executives. The top 10 UK charities by investment assets profiles the largest; the manager league table shows who runs the money.

The other account additions are smaller and more targeted: 48 new investment consultant accounts (37 to 85), 39 new family offices, 38 new wealth managers, 10 new corporate pensions, and 27 new UK long-term asset fund (LTAF) records on the fund side, read from the FCA register and loaded on 15 October 2026.

Where Did the 1,100 New Holdings Come From?

The Local Government Pension Scheme. Each of the 98 LGPS funds publishes an annual report and an investment strategy statement, and most publish quarterly committee papers listing every mandate and pooled fund they hold. Dakota's research team read those documents and loaded 1,130 fund-level holdings on 19 October 2026, taking the total on UK public pension accounts from 209 to 1,349 across 87 fund and pool accounts.

Each holding names the fund, the manager, the vehicle and, on 1,304 of the 1,349 rows, the balance. That turns a UK public pension account from a name and an AUM figure into a portfolio you can read: who runs the listed mandates (mostly the pools, Legal & General Investment Management and BlackRock), who holds the private markets commitments (Partners Group, Pantheon, HarbourVest, IFM Investors and others), and where a strategy like yours already sits. The guide to the six LGPS pools and what LGPS funds are buying in 2026 explain how to use it.

What Changed on the Accounts That Were Already There?

Contacts. The data team added 14,256 contacts to UK and European allocator and investment firm accounts between 1 September and 20 October 2026, excluding charities, and 4,769 of those sit on UK accounts. The effect shows in every row of the table above: wealth manager contacts up 56%, consultant contacts up 51%, insurer contacts up 79%, public pension contacts up 160%.

These are not bulk lists. Dakota's research team adds decision-makers by role (investment committee, chief investment officer, head of manager selection, portfolio manager, finance director) and keeps the existing job-move tracking running across them. A UK account that had two contacts in June typically has five or more today.

The established channels also picked up holdings where filings allow it: banks and private banks went from 1 to 7 holdings, and the LTAF load added 27 fund records that link to the managers running them.

What Is Coming Soon to Dakota's UK Data?

The 2026 loads were the first wave. The next datasets are already built from the same filings and registers and are coming soon to Dakota Marketplace, in roughly this order.

Coming soon

What it adds

LGPS committee minutes

249 meeting summaries with manager appointments, terminations and reviews

LGPS manager searches

29 live searches by funds and pools

LGPS manager relationships

1,018 further fund-to-manager links where the annual report names the manager but not the vehicle

Charity managers as structured data

2,540 charity-to-manager links on 1,204 charities, searchable rather than read from the account description

UK insurers from Solvency UK filings

33 UK insurer records with investable general account sizes and allocations

European UCITS sub-advisory

125 platforms that hire outside managers, 2,036 manager seats, about $280 billion

LTAF performance

Published returns on 11 LTAFs, plus the two Legal & General LTAFs

UK corporate DB and DC schemes

About 220 defined benefit schemes over £1 billion ($1.3 billion) and the 29 authorised master trusts

Two things stay true as these land. Everything is read from the allocators' own documents and public registers, then enriched by Dakota's research team. And the refresh is built in: charity filings are re-read monthly, LGPS committee papers three times a week, and each new filing wave produces a change file rather than a one-off load.
