The Southeast led February advisor transitions with 19 moves totaling about $7B in disclosed client assets. The Northeast followed with 17 moves totaling approximately $5.5B, followed by the Midwest – 13 moves totaling around $3.6B, the West – 12 moves totaling about $2.9B, and the Southwest – 5 moves totaling $1.0B.

Raymond James emerged as February’s leading recruiter by assets, adding teams representing approximately $3.8B in disclosed client assets across its various channels. Among its largest additions was Thrift Private Wealth of Raymond James, a $1B Easton, MD-based team. The firm also recruited Financial Consulting Services ($730M), Touchpoint Financial Advisors Group ($682M), The Cities Private Wealth Group ($600M), and Two Oaks Wealth ($400M), along with a $420M former Money Concepts Capital Corp. team, which joined First Investments & Planning at First National Bank of Omaha in Raymond James' financial institutions division.

Wells Fargo Advisors followed closely, adding two teams representing about $3.6B in disclosed client assets. Its largest pickup was The Weikes Slattery Group – a $3.1B team departing J.P. Morgan Advisors with offices in New York, San Diego, and Palo Alto.

Other major recruiters included Cresset, which added approximately $2B in client assets; Morgan Stanley which recruited teams representing $1.5B; and Elevation Point, which added teams totaling roughly $1.3B during the month.

Outside of advisor moves, February’s notable people news included Arete Wealth naming David Levine CEO, Baker Street Advisors appointing Christopher Wilkens CEO, and Beacon Pointe Advisors naming Matthew Cooper CEO. The month also saw several high-profile CIO appointments, including Paul Keeton at Prospera Financial Services, Robert Sears at Rathbones, and Pete Alliegro at Sagient, along with Collaborative Capital Advisors hiring Jonathan Barbato as deputy CIO.
