Summit, Merchant IM Buy Stake in $700M Wealth Manager Genex

Summit Financial and partner Merchant Investment Management announced making an investment in $700M Kirkwood, MO-based RIA Genex Consulting, which will join the Summit network and marks Summit’s first minority investment of 2025.

Genex Consulting is a multifamily office led by advisors Brian Redders, Michael Sluhan, and Chad Hemphill. The firm focuses on providing retirement planning, executive compensation, risk management, and estate planning to high-net-worth individuals, families, and businesses.

Summit’s most recent strategic investment was last month in North Carolina-based RIA Gordon Asset Management, which manages $1.3B in client assets.
