Report: Merrill Lynch Adds $270M Wells Fargo Advisory Team in CA

A Pleasanton, CA-based advisory team has made the jump to Merrill Lynch from Wells Fargo, where it managed $270M, according to a December 6 report from Financial Advisor IQ.

The team is composed of financial advisor Shahmir Moussavi and client associate Shannon Gonzalez. They will report to Lindsay Romig, market executive for Merrill’s East Bay Market and also a Wells alum. Moussavi reportedly generated $2.6M in annual revenue at Wells, according to Financial Advisor IQ.

Moussavi has also worked for Citigroup, UBS, Wachovia Securities, and McLaughlin, Piven, and Vogel Securities. In terms of poaching from Wells Fargo, Merrill most recently recruited a $200M advisor in Miami in late September, as previously reported by Dakota.
