New Mexico SIC Commits $600M to Real Estate, Private Credit

The New Mexico State Investment Council has approved four investments to real estate and private credit, totaling $600 million. 

In private credit, $150 million was allocated to Strategic Value Capital Solutions Fund II. The commitment is an add-on investment to a previous commitment in 2022, bringing the total Strategic Value Capital Solutions Fund II investments to $300 million. 

Three commitments were made to private equity, including a $300 million allocation to Carlyle Realty Partners X.

Also disclosed in the meeting materials was an allocation of $100 million to Jadian Real Estate Fund II. The investment establishes a new relationship between the SIC and Jadian Capital. 

Lastly, $150 million was allocated to WCP NewCold III. The investment creates a new relationship between the SIC and Westport Capital. 

As of February 29, the pension fund was valued at $52 billion.
