Manulife IM Names GCM Grosvenor MD as New Global COO for Private Markets

Manulife Investment Management announced that Ryan Hanna has joined the firm as global chief operating officer of private markets, as the firm continues to expand its global private markets platform.

Hanna joins from GCM Grosvenor, where he spent nearly seven years, most recently as a managing director and co-head of the client group overseeing capital formation, investor relations, product development, and global platform expansion. Before that he was head of global portfolio solutions for Segal Marco, where he was responsible for portfolio management in the firm’s OCIO program, overseeing approximately $11B in client assets, according to his LinkedIn Profile. He was a part of Marco Consulting for nearly eight years prior to the 2016 Segal-Marco merger, last serving as director of investment strategy.

In the new role, Hanna will be responsible for leading and executing strategic growth and operational plans for private markets investments across Manulife IM's $100B platform and collaborating with investment leaders and business partners. He will report directly to global head of private markets Anne Valentine Andrews in New York.
