Former senior member of Sturgeon Capital Alex Branton launches Nodem Capital, Nodem Capital, a new, London-based secondaries firm aiming to meet the needs of VC investors in “next wave” markets for a “creative liquidity provider.”
Founded by Alex Branton, a former senior member of the private equity and venture capital teams at Sturgeon Capital, Nodem intends to provide secondary liquidity to venture-capital backed assets across emerging European markets as well as Turkey, Latin America, Southeast Asia, and India. The firm specializes in offering partial liquidity through preferred equity investments to businesses or individuals who want to accelerate their liquidation for growth distribution while maintaining exposure and control.
Nodem said it is in the process of seeking authorization from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority and will commence investment activities once those regulatory approvals are received. It anticipates beginning to make investments in the first quarter of 2025 and said initial investor capital is in place.
