Illinois TRS Commits $570M to Alts

The Teachers Retirement System of Illinois approved six commitments to alternatives totaling $570 million, according to a June 18th news release.

Within private equity, $30 million was committed to Bregal Sagemount Basecamp I-B, $50 million to TPG Asia VIII, and $100 million to Sixth Street TAO Partners (B).

In private credit, $75 million was committed to Fundamental Solar Finance Fund. In real estate, $300 million to Starwood Distressed Opportunity XIII.

Additionally, in venture capital, $15 million was committed to MaC Venture Capital III.

As of May 31, 2024, the Illinois TRS was valued at approximately $70.98 billion.
