Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation Names Harvard Geneticist as New Trustee

The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, which supports scientific research and discovery, has recruited Dr. Pardis Sabeti to its board of trustees.

Sabeti is known for her research in infectious diseases and her role in developing rapid diagnostic tools for epidemic outbreaks. She is a core member of the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, where she led the infectious disease and microbiome program. Sabeti is also a public health professor at Harvard and founded the Sabeti Lab for infectious disease research.

Outside of academia, Sabeti is focused on pandemic preparedness initiatives, founding Operation Outbreak and SHERLOCK Biosciences. Her scientific efforts included her in TIME’s Person of the Year list.
