Matthew Heckler has left Kovitz Investment Partners to launch K2 Wealth Management, a metro Chicago RIA aimed at providing “white glove wealth advisory services” to high-net-worth individuals and their families.
Announcing the launch in a post on LinkedIn, Heckler said K2 services will include estate planning, wealth transfer, investment management, and private equity solutions. He joined Kovitz in March 2024 following its acquisition of Telemus Capital, where he had worked since 2020 and led the corporate executive services team, providing financial planning and advisory services to senior level executives. Prior to that he was a principal with Cerity Partners for nearly four years and began his career at Goldman Sachs, with his time there including a stint as a wealth advisor for Goldman’s family office group.
Heckler will be joined at K2 by registered advisor Carol Chen, who in a LinkedIn post said she will also serve on the firm’s investment committee. Chen began her career in 2006 as an analyst at Merrill Lynch and most recently served as an executive director at MSCI, where she was a subject matter expert on MSCI index methodologies, including factor and thematic investing.
