Veteran advisor Mark Resnik and his son Steven, a former private equity investor, have launched Burling Wealth Management, a Chicago-based independent wealth management firm dedicated to serve high-net-worth individuals and families.
Steven, who will serve as a managing director in the new venture, said in a statement that the move comes in response to ongoing consolidation in the RIA space, with Burling’s aim being to create “a better model.” Steven brings over 10 years of experience to the role, most recently serving as a vice president with The Edgewater Funds, a Chicago-based private equity firm with over $4B in capital commitments since 2001.
"Having researched the market as a private equity investor, we believe there is a unique opportunity to build a next-generation wealth management firm to provide advisors with the opportunity to better serve their clients," Steven said in a statement announcing the firm’s launch.
His father, Mark, has over 30 years of advisory and portfolio management experience, most recently serving as a principal with Geneva Advisors for nearly 11 years. Rounding out the Burling team are managing directors Young Im, Zachary Patzik, and Abby Davis.
