D. E. Shaw Raises $1B for Private Credit Alkali Fund VI

D. E. Shaw said November 13 it raised $1B for the latest of its Alkali funds, bringing total commitments to the series to $3.9B.

D. E. Shaw Alkali Fund VI, a multi-strategy closed-end vehicle, will invest primarily in corporate debt, structured credit, synthetic securitizations and other specialty asset classes. 

The hedge fund company said more than half of the amount raised came from investors in previous Alkali vintage vehicles, which first debuted in 2012.
