Opportunistic Credit Investor Community Fund Raises $254M

Los Angeles-based, Israel-focused credit investor Community Fund reported raising $254M across five separate hedge fund vehicles, according to recent filings with the SEC.

Community reported raising $2.8M from four investors for CF Global 9, $137.8M from 19 investors for CF Global 8, $51.4M from 14 investors for CF Global 7, $50M from 16 investors for CF Global 5, and $12M for one investor for CF Global 3. The funds are open-ended hedge fund vehicles, with Tel Aviv-based Midgal Underwriting & Business Initiatives assisting with marketing outside the US for Global 7.

Community is a global opportunistic credit fund that spun out of York Capital in October 2020. It invests as a senior creditor in bond and loan instruments of global companies with ties to the Israeli ecosystem. The firm says it employs a flexible capital strategy to target opportunities across a broad range of special-situation and distressed investments in both private and public markets.
