Corient Capital Partners co-founder Jon Tenney has departed the $185B RIA to found a new wealth management practice based in Newport, CA, he announced in a post on LinkedIn.

Tenney recently registered THECE Wealth Management, pending a 120-day approval by the SEC, and will serve as the new firm’s managing partner and co-CEO, along with fellow breakaway Corient partner Jacob Halladay, who will serve as chief compliance officer of the new firm.

Both Tenney and Halladay hold extensive advisory and managerial experience in the industry, with shared tenures at Corient and Merrill Lynch. Tenney started his nearly 30-year career as private wealth advisor at Goldman Sachs, where he worked for over 11 years. He had been founding partner and investment advisor at Corient Capital Partners for close to a decade, where Halladay also began as managing director in 2019 before being elevated to partner in February 2020.
