Canadian venture capital firm True North Fund said it has raised nearly $100M on the second close of its Fund I and that Chris Albinson will be returning full-time to his role as co-managing partner of True North after splitting time as CEO of affiliated tech innovation hub Communitech.
In addition to completing its second close, the firm said True North Fund I has also completed its first three portfolio investments in Canadian technology startups, according to an October 29 press release. Albinson’s return will aid the firm as it increases its investment cadence and wraps up fundraising efforts.
