BW Forsyth Invests in $3.4B Matter Family Office to Fuel Growth

Direct-investment firm BW Forsyth Partners has made a strategic investment in Matter Family Office, with Matter becoming its seventh portfolio company and representing its first foray into wealth management.

BW Forsyth has committed capital to fund organic growth initiatives and future acquisitions for Matter in an effort “to develop a higher impact family office,” Partner Drew Frailey said in an October 2 news release.

The St. Louis, MO-based Matter team, founded and led by Managing Member Kathy Lintz, services high-net-worth individuals and families, overseeing $3.4B in managed assets on a 97% client retention rate, according to the firm’s website. Fellow St.Louis firm BW Forsyth will join the multifamily office’s board of directors as part of the deal.

BW Forsyth Partners is the investment arm of global manufacturing and engineering consultancy Barry-Wehmiller and reports completing 40 acquisitions since 2009.
