Accel Raises $650M for Eighth India-focused VC Fund

Global startups investor Accel said it has raised $650M for its eighth India-focused venture capital fund.

In a December 31, 2024, filing with the SEC, the US venture capital firm said it secured commitments for Accel India VIII from 131 investors. It launched the sale of the fund on December 18. For its seventh India-focused fund, Accel also raised $650M. 

On December 19, Accell announced raising $1.35B for its seventh growth fund, which targets tech startups. Since its inception, Accel has been an early-stage investor in a variety of successful tech startups, including Atlassian, Crowdstrike, Freshworks, Qualtrics, Slack, Spotify, and Squarespace.
