Fundraising and raising capital is hard. Dakota makes it easier.
Every month, Dakota ships new capability built directly from feedback from fundraisers using Marketplace every day. July's releases put more control in your hands: submit your own performance data, pull peer benchmarks wherever you already work, and surface board relationships that get you a real introduction.
Here's everything that went live in July and why it matters to your workflow.
Getting current data in front of allocators used to mean waiting on a data refresh cycle. That gap is closed. Firms can now submit their own performance and firm details directly into Dakota Marketplace through a new self-service page, live to all Marketplace users as of late July.
That means you can update your own numbers the moment you close a quarter instead of waiting for someone else to do it. If your firm hasn't claimed and updated its profile yet, this is the fastest way to make sure allocators researching your strategy see your most current numbers first.
Dakota Benchmarks launched in June and quickly became one of the most requested features outside of core Marketplace. The same standardized, static fund performance benchmarks across Private Equity, Venture Capital, Real Assets and Infrastructure, Real Estate, and Private Credit are now available directly in the Private Markets Portal, with the Dakota International Portal coming soon. Wherever your team already works, you can pull peer benchmark data without switching tools.
Marketplace has a new centralized Preferences Center, replacing the old Email Notifications popup. You can change your password directly in-platform, or skip the password altogether: Dakota now supports signing in with a one-time email verification code sent to your inbox.
Dakota Joe, Marketplace's AI research assistant, now opens in a dedicated full-screen tab instead of a sidebar panel. If you're running longer research sessions, chasing warm intros through Dakota's Alumni Network, or building a target list, the extra room makes multi-step queries easier to work through without losing your place.
Two new related lists surface board relationships across Marketplace. Private Company pages now show a Board of Directors list, and Investment Firm pages show a Board Positions list. Board seats are often the fastest route to a real introduction, and now that data lives right on the record instead of requiring a separate search.
July's releases are about giving fundraisers more control and more reach: your own data, updated on your own timeline; benchmarks wherever you work; and board relationships that used to take a separate search to find.
More updates across AI, data depth, and platform integrations are already in development.
