Family office direct investment activity is one of the most consequential capital flows in private markets and one of the hardest to track.
Dakota Marketplace solves that by sourcing, verifying, and standardizing transaction data across thousands of family offices globally, so fund managers can see where conviction is actually moving.
In June 2026, Dakota tracked 73 direct investments worldwide totaling $19.97B in disclosed transaction value. Bezos Expeditions, the family office of Jeff Bezos, claimed four of the top 10 spots by value, reflecting the firm's unusually active month across AI and robotics.
The list below ranks the month's most significant transactions by deal size, sourced from Dakota Marketplace's family office investment data.
Bezos Expeditions, the family office of Jeff Bezos, participated in Prometheus' $12B Series B round, valuing the AI startup at approximately $41B. Prometheus is building AI models for physical tasks including engineering, manufacturing, and drug design, with Bezos serving as co-CEO alongside Vik Bajaj, a Stanford professor and former Alphabet Verily co-founder.
Security Trading, the investment company of Finnish businessman Antti Herlin, participated in Stegra's €1.4B financing round led by a Wallenberg Investments-led consortium. Stegra is a green steel company ramping up construction of a hydrogen-powered steel plant in Boden, Sweden, backed by a broad coalition of European institutional and family investors including Altor, Temasek, and AMF.
Claridge, the investment vehicle of the Bronfman family, participated in Motorola Solutions' $1.5B acquisition of D-Fend Solutions, a counter-drone technology company with deployments across more than 30 countries. D-Fend's non-kinetic RF cyber-takeover technology safely redirects rogue drones and has seen annual revenue growth of over 50% in each of the last three years.
Dara Holdings, the investment firm of Lubna Olayan, joined a €480M Series G round for Alan, a French health insurer building what it calls prevention insurance, valuing the company at €5.5B. Alan combines health coverage, care navigation, and AI-powered health assistance in a single platform, serving more than 1.1 million members across France, Spain, Belgium, and Canada.
Bezos Expeditions, the family office of Jeff Bezos, provided roughly $100M of Flourish's $500M funding round, which valued the neuro-AI startup at $2.5B. Flourish is developing AI models inspired by the human brain that require significantly less power than large language models, with the goal of reducing energy consumption by more than an order of magnitude compared to standard GPU processing.

Family office direct investments happen largely outside public view. There is no mandatory disclosure, no regulatory filing, no database built by a government body. What family offices do with their capital has historically been invisible to the fund managers trying to reach them.
Dakota Marketplace's family office investment data changes that.
Every record reflects an actual transaction that closed, not a survey response about investment intentions. What family offices do with their capital is more reliable than what they say about it, and Dakota tracks the former. The database is continuously updated as new transactions are identified and verified by Dakota's research team, so your market view always reflects current activity. Filter by sector, stage, deal size, geography, or co-investor to identify the family offices already deploying capital in your strategy.
The families writing direct checks in your sector today are the fund commitments you should be sourcing for next quarter. Talk to an expert here.
