Introducing the Dakota Marketplace Claude Connector — and why it changes everything about how you research, prospect, and win.
For years, the private markets data problem has been the same: great information buried inside platforms that require you to know exactly what you're looking for before you can find it. You had to log in, filter, export, copy, paste — and still stitch the picture together yourself.
That era is over.
Dakota Marketplace is now available as a Claude connector, which means our entire private markets database — 258,955+ LP accounts, 386,689+ verified contacts, 57,638+ private funds, 20,034+ transactions, and thousands of GP and private company records — is now directly accessible through Claude's AI interface. You don't search the database. You have a conversation with it.
When you connect Dakota Marketplace to Claude, our data becomes the fuel powering your AI. You can ask natural-language questions and get structured, accurate, sourced answers drawn directly from our platform:
“Which family offices in the Southeast have committed to infrastructure funds in the last 18 months?”
“Who are the right contacts at public pensions that have re-upped with emerging managers?”
“Show me RIAs with $1B+ AUM that have allocated to private credit.”
Claude doesn't guess. It calls Dakota's data directly. The answers reflect what's actually in the platform — updated daily, verified by our team, built by fundraisers for fundraisers.
Most AI tools in private markets are wrappers around public information. They scrape what's available, summarize what they find, and call it intelligence. The problem is that fundraising doesn't run on public information. It runs on proprietary data: who committed, to whom, when, at what size, through which channel.
That's what Dakota has spent nearly two decades building.
Our database is the only one in the industry that covers every channel and every jurisdiction — family offices, RIAs, financial advisors, foundations, endowments, public pensions, sovereign wealth funds, insurance general accounts, and fund of funds. It also goes beyond LPs: GP profiles, private company intelligence, and transaction history are all part of the picture.
Competitors like Fintrx are US-only across limited channels. Preqin never built LP depth for fundraisers and excluded RIAs and financial advisors entirely. With Intelligence focuses primarily on fund-level intelligence in European markets.
When you connect Claude to Dakota, you're not connecting it to a search engine. You're connecting it to the deepest private markets dataset ever built — and then putting AI on top of it.
The engine is AI. The fuel is Dakota. Without the fuel, the engine runs on fumes.
The Dakota Claude Connector isn't a novelty feature. It was designed around a simple observation: the best fundraisers don't sit in databases. They're in conversations, on planes, between meetings. They need answers fast, in plain language, without learning a query syntax.
Now they can get them.
Ask about a prospect while you're prepping for a call. Build a targeted list while you're on a flight. Research a firm's full investment history in seconds before walking into a meeting.
The data comes to you, shaped by your question, ready for immediate use.

Here's what we believe: the gap between firms using AI-powered private markets intelligence and those who aren't is going to widen faster than most people expect.
The firms that connect their AI to great data now will build workflows, instincts, and muscle memory that competitors can't catch up to in a year or two. The depth and breadth of Dakota's data — combined with daily updates and the accuracy our team obsesses over — means that every month you're connected, the quality of your AI-powered research compounds.
This isn't about replacing your team's judgment. It's about giving your team's judgment the best possible raw material.
That's always been the Dakota mission. The Claude connector is just the newest way we're delivering on it.
Ready to connect? Current Marketplace subscribers can find the Dakota connector in the Claude App Store today. Not yet a subscriber? Request a demo and we'll show you what your research workflow looks like when it's powered by the best private markets data in the industry.
