The Midwest and Northeast tied in advisor move volume in June with 20 moves each, but the Midwest led in assets, totaling approximately $7.67B in disclosed client assets compared to roughly $7.13B in the Northeast. The Southeast recorded the highest move count of any region at 24, though its disclosed assets of about $3.31B ranked fourth. The West came in with 13 moves totaling approximately $4.44B, while the Southwest was the least active region with four moves totaling about $1.66B. Three additional moves spanned multiple regions, representing approximately $3.09B in combined client assets.
The month's headline move came from the multiple regions bucket, where Zelniker Dorfman Private Wealth relocated from UBS to Steward Partners, bringing $2.4B in client assets across offices in Sarasota, FL and New York. The second-largest transition was Align Private Wealth moving $2B from PNC Private Bank to LPL Financial in Greenwood, IN.
LPL Financial emerged as the month's most active recruiter by both volume and assets, adding 10 teams across multiple regions representing approximately $6B in disclosed client assets. Notable additions included the $2B Align Private Wealth in Indiana, $1.5B Spectrum Wealth Strategies in Texas, $725M Alan Feutz in Illinois, and $500M Tribute Financial in Missouri and Connecticut.
Morgan Stanley ranked second by assets, adding two teams totaling approximately $2.5B — headlined by the $1.5B TruCore Advisors from J.P. Morgan Securities in New York. Raymond James added six teams across its employee and independent channels totaling approximately $2.8B, led by the $1.2B ArdenVest Wealth from RBC Wealth Management in Beverly Hills. UBS was the second most active wirehouse recruiter by volume, adding nine teams totaling roughly $2B in disclosed assets, led by $1.2B Adam Conish from Glenmede in Philadelphia.
Outside of advisor moves, June's notable people news included several CEO and CIO transitions: Kathy Leckey was named CEO of Lincoln Investment Planning, with predecessor Ed Forst moving to executive chairman; and Chris Kenny was appointed CEO of Evelyn Partners, succeeding Paul Geddes. Donald MacKechnie was named CEO of Lloyds Wealth. On the investment leadership front, Nathan Shetty joined SEI as CIO from Nuveen Asset Management, Joe Aguilar was named vice president and CIO of Market Street Trust Co. from the Office of the Illinois State Treasury, and Willow Wealth appointed Tom Williams as CIO from BlueGreen Capital Management.
The month also saw John Marshall join Carrick Lane from Goldman Sachs to lead options investment management for ultra-high-net-worth families; Brad Finkle named global COO of Barings from TIAA; Roberto Stewart transition from COO at Engle Martin to president and chief business officer at Hightower; and Anton Bayer move from CEO to chairman and CIO at Up Capital Management, with Nyle Bayer succeeding him as CEO.
