If you are raising capital or sourcing deals, you already know that speed and context are everything. The Dakota Marketplace ChatGPT Connector puts live allocator intelligence directly inside ChatGPT, so you can build call lists, research accounts, draft outreach, and prep for meetings without switching tabs or copying data from one tool to another.
This guide walks you through how to set it up in six steps.
Before connecting, make sure you have the following:
Not yet a Dakota Marketplace member? Book a demo to see what's inside.
Log in to ChatGPT at chatgpt.com using your Enterprise or Business account. In the left sidebar, click Apps to open the connector directory.
Once the Apps page opens, you will see featured connectors across several categories. Use the search bar in the top right corner to search Dakota and locate the Dakota Marketplace connector.
The Dakota Marketplace connector will appear in the search results. Click the card to open the connector page.
If two Dakota Marketplace listings appear, select the public one rather than the one tagged Internal, unless your administrator has directed otherwise.
On the Dakota Marketplace connector page, you will see a description of what the connector does and the data it accesses. Click the Connect button in the top right corner to begin authentication.
An authentication dialog will appear prompting you to add Dakota Marketplace to ChatGPT. Click Sign in with Dakota Marketplace and enter the same email and password you use to log into Dakota Marketplace at dakotanetworks.my.site.com.
After authenticating, the connector page will refresh and the button in the top right will change from Connect to Start chat. That confirms the connection is live. Click Start chat to open a new conversation with the Dakota Marketplace connector active.
You will also see a checkmark next to Dakota Marketplace in your Apps directory going forward.
Once connected, open any new ChatGPT conversation, attach Dakota Marketplace, and start prompting. Here are a few ways investment professionals are using it:
Find allocators: "Find me 10 family offices in Texas investing in private equity with verified contacts."
Research an account: "Summarize GIC Group's investment preferences and recent activity."
Build a call list: "Build a list of endowments and foundations with over $500M AUM allocating to real assets."
Draft outreach: "Draft a cold email to the CIO at a mid-size RIA interested in liquid alternatives."
Deal sourcing: "Find private companies in healthcare IT in the Southeast backed by PE sponsors."
Meeting prep: "Summarize everything Dakota has on GIC Group before my call tomorrow."
The Dakota Marketplace ChatGPT Connector is available to all active members with a ChatGPT Enterprise or Business subscription.
