Alternative credit manager Variant Investments said on November 14 that it has recruited two new senior vice presidents to help lead its risk management and investment analytics efforts, while also adding two senior associates supporting valuations and investments.
The Portland, OR-based firm named Corey Perlmutter as senior vice president of risk management and Brandon Jones as senior vice president of investment analytics. Both will report to Variant co-founder and principal Bob Elsasser.
Perlmutter will be charged with helping to oversee Variant’s liquidity risk program and most recently served as a senior director with CIBC’s innovation banking group. Jones will help direct the firm’s approach to investment analytics and manage data quality assurance for investment information. He joins from investment consultant NEPC, where he was a principal.
Variant also appointed Erik Baun as senior associate of valuations and Lorena Ledesma as senior associate of investments. Braun joins from Carta, where he was a senior associate in valuations and strategy, while Ledesma joins from Aspiria, a Mexican fintech company, where she was a finance manager.
