The Retirement Planning Group Acquires Watters Financial Services

The Retirement Planning Group, a registered investment advisor firm under Cetera Financial's umbrella, has acquired an advisor team managing approximately $180 million in client assets. This team, comprised of father and son Tim Watters and Colin Watters, formerly operated as Watters Financial Services in Paramus, New Jersey.

Tim Watters has been active in the financial industry since 1999, starting his career with Washington Square Securities, while Colin Watters began his career in 2013 with Joseph Gunnar & Co. Following Cetera's acquisition of The Retirement Planning Group in June 2023, the firm has also brought Dightman Capital Group and Lee Financial Group Hawaii into its fold, boosting its assets under management to over $2 billion.
