Texas TRS Invests $180M in Private Equity, Real Estate Funds

The Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas said it made $180M in total commitments to three funds in private equity and real estate, in deals closed in January. 

Per an email from Texas TRS spokesman Rob Maxwell, the pension allocated $100M to private equity growth fund Oaktree Olorin Investment Fund, $50M to opportunistic real estate vehicle CSF IV, and $30M to middle-market buyout PIMCO Brera Fund. Of the three, PIMCO represents a new relationship with Texas TRS. 

As of the latest Dakota data, Texas TRS oversees $211.6B in aggregate pension assets.
