BlackRock secured capital commitments of $1.1B at the first close of its fifth global infrastructure solutions fund, Infrastructure Investor reported December 16, citing unnamed sources.
The investment company is aiming to raise $2.5B for Global Infrastructure Fund V, which it launched in June. So far, it has secured pledges from more than 25 investors, including DigitalBridge, KKR, Arcus, Digital Transformation Capital Partners, Northleaf and Partners Group, according to the report.
Global Infrastructure Fund V will invest in primary fund commitments, secondaries and co-investments. One of the sources said 40% of the amount already raised has been earmarked for 21 opportunities across the three strategies.
For the first close of the predecessor, BlackRock Global Infrastructure Fund IV, BlackRock Alternatives secured $4.5B of commitments from investors, securing more than half of the targeted $7.5B.
