Real Estate Investor Stockbridge Makes Foray Into Private Wealth

San Francisco-based real estate investment firm Stockbridge announced that it has launched a new private wealth division and plans to soon launch complementary investment strategies in a bid to raise capital from wealthy investors and their advisors across broker-dealer, RIA, wirehouse, private bank, and family office private wealth channels.

Stockbridge’s private wealth division will be headquartered in Phoenix and led by Apollo Global Management veterans Vere Reynolds-Hale and Chris Lundberg, who joined in June 2024. The duo joined Apollo through its December 2021 acquisition of Griffin Capital Securities, where they were part of a sales team that raised over $16B capital across a platform of alternative investment solutions. According to their LinkedIn profiles, Reynolds-Hale served as head of national accounts at both Griffin Capital and Apollo, while Lundberg managed the sales desk for Griffin Capital and became a director of strategy at Apollo.

With the new private wealth division, Reynolds-Hale will serve as head of private wealth and Lundberg as head of strategy and sales operations. Stockbridge said it is in the process of expanding the team to include approximately 20 client-facing professionals and support staff, which will include both staff in the Phoenix office as well as regional sales directors and consultants located throughout the US.

Stockbridge said it plans to introduce a range of real estate investment products available through US private wealth channels in the next few years, initially focusing on the residential rental sector, including multifamily assets, along with certain specialty property types. Mark Alfieri, CEO of MORE Residential and connected to Stockbridge through the firms’ $4B Stockbridge MORE Communities joint venture, will serve as COO for the firm’s initial private wealth residential investing platform.
