Philly Pension Board Commits $50M to Private Equity

Approved at the April 25th board meeting of the City of Philadelphia Board of Pensions and Retirement, a $50 million commitment was approved for private equity firm Barings, LLC.

The allocation was made to the Barings Co-Investment Separately Account First Capitol III (BCI SMA FC III). 

Investment consultant, Marquette, supported the decision.

As of April 30, 2024, the retirement fund was valued at $8.2 billion in assets, allocating 12.8% to private assets.
