Omnes Capital has announced closing the fifth iteration of its renewable energy fund with €2.05B in capital commitments, in a fundraiser that surpassed both its €1.35B target and €1.65B hard cap.
The Paris-based energy transition investor said Capenergie 5 represents its largest fundraiser yet, completed within two years since its launch in December 2022, and brings the total global AUM of the strategy to €4.3B. The fund drew in commitments from a diversified group of both existing and new investors ranging from pensions, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices. The €2.05B tally is inclusive of €250M in co-investments.
Capenergie 5 has so far backed seven renewable energy developers possessing more than 516 energy transition projects spread across 13 countries in Europe. The fund aims to support at least three more businesses in the sector.
