The Molpus Woodlands Group is aiming to raise $500M for its sixth timber fund, Molpus Woodlands Nature Based Solutions Fund VI.
Sales of the fund, which carries a minimum $5M investment, are yet to commence, the firm said in a filing with the SEC. Predecessor Fund V made a $116.4M first close in March 2019 against a target of $500M, though the firm did not report final close figures.
Moelis & Co. will oversee sales and marketing of the latest fund in both the US and abroad, while Finex Hong Kong will assist with sales and marketing efforts outside of the US. The fund has earmarked $7.5M for sales commissions.
Molpus Woodlands Group manages 1.7 million acres of timberland investments across 17 US states on behalf of pension funds, college endowments, foundations, insurance companies and high-net-worth individual investors.
