Former Guggenheim Partners MD Joins Star Mountain Capital

Star Mountain Capital recruited a new senior advisor with 35 years of institutional investing experience in private credit, distressed debt, leveraged finance, private and public equity, and investment banking.

C. Shawn Bookin served most recently as managing director for corporate credit at Guggenheim Partners until retiring in April 2021 after nearly 10 years with the firm. Prior to that, Bookin was a senior investment director for the Australian Trade Commission, with previous tenures as managing director at Mount Kellett Capital Management and TCW Group.

In his role as senior advisor, Bookin will provide support in deal sourcing, investor relations, and strategic insights for Star Mountain. As of November 30, the New York-based specialized investment firm said it oversees $4B in total AUM.
