Commonfund OCIO Recruits New CIO from Tulane Endowment

Commonfund announced that former Tulane University Investment Management Office deputy CIO Julia Mord will join the firm’s outsourced CIO business as chief investment officer, effective March 31.

As CIO, Mord will be responsible for overseeing the development and management of a diversified global investment program implemented across multiple nonprofit investment portfolios. She will also serve as chair of Commonfund OCIO's investment and asset allocation committees and as a member of the firm's executive group.

Mord played a key role in managing Tulane University's $2.4B endowment. Her work included leading public market investment strategies, as well as establishing Tulane's ESG policy with a strong focus on environmental sustainability. Mord started her career in 1998 at Ernst & Young. She became assistant vice president at Jefferies & Company in 2001, and as senior investment analyst at AI International in 2006.
