Cetera’s Avantax Adds Nine Teams Managing $390M

Cetera Financial Group’s subsidiary RIA Avantax Wealth Management has made a series of advisor recruitments, adding approximately $390M in combined AUA.

In a press release published October 10, the Dallas-based firm said it recruited a total of nine financial service groups and individuals, with three previously affiliated from LPL Financial: San Francisco-based Sentinel Financial Group, led by Ali Kazemi; advisor Amy Wright, operating as Wright Financial Solutions near Des Moines, IA; and Premier Wealth Management, headed by Joseph Schwan in Long Island, NY.

The rest of the new additions are Lancaster, PA-based independent advisor Allan Thompson from Ameriprise Financial; the Covina, CA, team of Xavier Consulting, led by George Escobar, from Next Financial Group; former Lincoln Financial-affiliated Progressive Planning Services, founded by duo Ken Ulrich and John Ariola and based in East Amherst, NY; Seattle-based Scot Sageser and William Hubbard’s Defender Financial Services Group, previously with World Equity Group; and independent advisor W. Townsend Morris from Kestra Financial, operating out of Ardmore, PA.
