In January 2023, the firm received PE backing from Stone Point Capital. IEQ has consistently been on the Barron's top RIA list. The former Luminous/First Republic team formed IEQ Capital in 2019, which is based in SF/LA. IEQ Capital was founded by a team of dreamers: Rob Skinner, Alan Zafran, Eric Harrison, Jeff Westsmith, and Frank McFarland. As entrepreneurs at heart, the founders embrace the challenges and rewards associated with running and continuously improving an excellent firm in all aspects. When they decided to begin this venture, they wanted to take the next step forward in their uncompromising focus on clients and investment excellence, without the distractions and limitations of working in a larger organization. An independent advisory firm provided the platform to focus their efforts on helping clients meet their investment objectives. The firm is duly based in San Francisco and LA. This is the former Luminous and First Republic team, which spun out to form IEQ back in 2019.
