Joined The Colony Group in November 2024. GYL Financial Synergies at about $6 billion is based in West Hartford, Connecticut. In the fourth quarter of 2019, they merged with Resnick Investment Advisors. Originally, GYL spun out of Wells Fargo back in 2016. Right now, they are going through a handful of changes as a result of the merger with Resnick. The two folks for research to reach out to would be Shane Reilly, who's been with GYL since its founding, and Karen Lexlow from Resnick. They have two sides in the business. One is a more institutional consulting side and the other is private wealth management. On the private wealth management side, they create models with a core satellite approach to their models. And then, on the consulting side, it's really heavily search-driven. They post their searches and will reach out to managers when there's a specific search. One thing to note, they typically don't take new manager calls until the last month of each quarter. March, June, September and December are the best time to do a first-time call with GYL.
